When doing business internationally, there may be times that you receive an electronic PDF document in another language, like German. Luckily, it is possible to translate and even convert PDF documents with online document translators. Certain tools, like Google Translate, allow you to upload the entire document to translate for you. However, depending on the process, you may need to convert the file from a PDF to another file type, then back into a PDF before you can finish the translation.
Google Translate is not just for typing individual words into the translation engine. Using Google Translate, you can actually upload entire documents for instantaneous translations, or use what’s called the Translator Toolkit to edit and modify a document as you translate it. Additionally, you can use Google’s translation tools to translate Google Docs as you go, which is another method we’ll cover below.
But first, in order to decide which Google tool to use when translating a document from German to English, think about what the purpose of the document you are translating is for. Are you simply trying to read and comprehend what the document says, or will this be a living document that you will need to make changes to?
If it is the former, uploading the PDF document in question to Google Translate to translate it into English will work fine. However, you have no control over the formatting or font used in the new translated document, as it will be converted to a simple transcript of what the original document says. If you want to make changes to the document, and send it back with edits, then you should use the Translator Toolkit.
Here is how to use Google Translate to translate documents online.
As mentioned above, the formatting on this new PDF may be very different than the original document, so if you want to make changes or re-use this document, you may want to use the Translator Toolkit method.
To translate PDFs, German to English or otherwise, that you plan to re-use in the future, you will want to use the Translator Toolkit. However, you can’t upload your PDF directly to the Translator Toolkit, as the PDF file format is not accepted. Instead, you will first need to either convert it to a Word or Google document, or copy the entire text into a separate .txt file. Once that’s done, follow these steps: Emulador fiscal serial.
You can now convert this translated revision back into a PDF in Google Docs, Microsoft Word, or through another PDF converter of your choosing.
There is a third method to use Google Translate tools to translate German to English documents directly in Google Docs. To do so, follow these steps:
Since you are translating from German to English, the typing language will default to English, but if you were translating to another language and wanted to make edits, you would want to change the typing language to the language you are editing. There are specific options for specific languages, so default to Google’s help options if you are translated a non-latin based language like Japanese or Hindi.
There are plenty of other online PDF translator applications, but make sure you do your research to confirm they are from reliable publishers before you choose one. Like some of the Google Translate options above, you may need to convert your PDF to a Word or Google doc before you can translate the file. If your PDF document has a password, most online translators won’t be able to get through the password.
Some of these other third party online translators include DocsPal, PDF Online or Free File Converter. One of the best and most reliable free online translator services is DocTranslator. Ironically enough, this is because DocTranslator incorporates Google Translate functionality to translate documents. However, if you are looking for a quick and easy workaround to translate and save your PDF back as a PDF without having to convert the document, DocTranslator is the perfect option.
